Two bridges into Toledo
From Oregon, I-280 and SR-2 both cross the Maumee River into Toledo:
- I-280 over the Veterans’ Glass City Skyway, a cable-stayed bridge with three lanes each way. The Skyway is in Toledo, not Oregon, so if you stop on it, say “I-280 on the Skyway” and your direction. In winter, ice sometimes falls from the cables and temporarily blocks lanes.
- SR-2 (Navarre Ave) over the Anthony Wayne Bridge, the downtown suspension bridge commonly called the High Level Bridge.
Refinery roads and truck routes
Oregon’s industrial corridors run along Cedar Point Rd, Woodville Rd, Bay Shore Rd and N. Lallendorf Rd. They serve the Cenovus Toledo Refinery at 4001 Cedar Point Rd and the Toledo Refining Co. (PBF) refinery on Woodville Rd. The city designates 80,000-lb truck routes, and other overweight trucks need a Special Haul Permit (city load-limits map).
What that means when you need a tow here:
- Fenced lots and gates: if the car is inside a plant lot or past a guard station, say so and arrange for someone to let the truck in.
- Heavy vehicles: for a semi, a dump truck or a loaded work truck, say so on the first call. A heavy-duty wrecker is a different truck from a light-duty tow.
- Ordinary cars on industrial roads: a stall on Cedar Point Rd or Woodville Rd can leave you beside large trucks. Get the car as far off the road as it will go and request an emergency tow.
Navarre Ave work and winter routes
The city’s Navarre Avenue Safety Improvement Project (PID 118234) adds a median and new signals; the city posted a construction notice letter dated January 20, 2026 (city notice letter). With a median in place, say which side of Navarre you are on and which way you were heading, so the driver can approach from the correct side. Check OHGO for current lane closures.
In snow, the city’s priority routes include Corduroy, Pickle, Wheeling, Lallendorf and Navarre (city streets page). Oregon is in Lucas County, where a Level 3 snow emergency closes roads to non-emergency travel. If you slide off a side street, a winch-out can often pull the car back onto the pavement.
Lakefront parks and Navarre landmarks
| Landmark | Address | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Maumee Bay State Park | 1400 State Park Rd | Oregon mailing address, though possibly outside city limits; name the lot or building |
| Pearson Metropark | 761 S. Lallendorf Rd | Give the entrance or lot you used |
| Mercy Health St. Charles Hospital | 2600 Navarre Ave | A clear landmark on Navarre |
| Cenovus Toledo Refinery | 4001 Cedar Point Rd | Industrial area; say if you are at a gate |
A dead battery or keys locked in at a park lot is a roadside call, not a tow: ask for a jump start or lockout help through roadside assistance. South of Oregon is Northwood, which has its own page.
What to have ready
- The road and nearest cross street, or the park, plant or store name
- For I-280, your direction and whether you are north or south of Exit 7
- Whether the car is behind a gate, and who can open it
- Year, make and model, or the size and weight class for a truck
- Where the vehicle should go, with an address
Then call (419) 329-4502 or send a request, and it goes to an independent provider serving Oregon. If the vehicle is behind a plant gate, keep the gate contact’s number handy for when the operator calls, and ask for the price before anything is hooked up.
